What is the Letter?

One study. Every Sunday. Explained by a physician.

The Skin Longevity Letter is a weekly skin science letter: each Sunday, one peer-reviewed study — translated into what it found, what it means for your skin this decade, and your one action. It reports through the three-vector Skinspan framework: The Spark (cellular energy), The Brain (repair signalling and delivery) and The Bone (structural integrity).

It is written by Dr. Amr H. Ismail, MD, founder of 3D Rejuvenation Academy. The Letter is independent: no advertising, no affiliate links, no manufacturer sponsorship — and the PubMed citations (PMIDs) for every claim are published with each issue. Educational only, never medical advice.

What is The Skin Longevity Letter?

A weekly, evidence-based skin science letter for women: every Sunday, one peer-reviewed study is translated into what it found, what it means for your skin this decade, and the one action worth taking. It is written by a physician, is product-neutral, and publishes its PubMed citations with every issue.

What is the three-vector framework behind it?

The Letter reports skin science in three dimensions — The Spark (cellular energy), The Brain (repair signalling and delivery) and The Bone (structural integrity). Together they form the Skinspan framework: extending the years your skin stays functionally healthy, instead of "anti-aging".

Who writes The Skin Longevity Letter?

Dr. Amr H. Ismail, MD — aesthetic-medicine educator and founder of 3D Rejuvenation Academy. The Letter accepts no advertising, no affiliate links and no manufacturer sponsorship; every claim is cited to peer-reviewed sources. Read the Editorial & Independence Policy.

Is it medical advice?

No. The Letter is educational and cited to PubMed-indexed research; individual skin needs and outcomes vary, so decisions belong with you and your clinician.

What do free readers get, and what does membership add?

Free members read one rotating issue per month plus the permanent sample issue. Membership ($12/month or $120/year) unlocks every Sunday issue, the Label Decoder, monthly live science briefings and the full searchable archive.

What the evidence looks like

One study. Every Sunday. Explained by a physician — in the format below:

  • Collagen peptides are among the best-trialled oral interventions. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n = 100), 12 weeks of low-molecular-weight collagen peptides significantly improved skin roughness, wrinkle parameters, overall/net/biological elasticity, and hydration versus placebo — J Cosmet Dermatol, 2024 (PubMed 37822045). An earlier 8-week trial in 69 women aged 35–55 found significant elasticity improvement that persisted 4 weeks after stopping — Skin Pharmacol Physiol, 2014 (PubMed 23949208).
  • Cellular energy — The Spark. Mitochondrial dysfunction is a pivotal driver of age-related tissue decline, and organ-specific mitochondrial strategies are an active therapeutic frontier — Pharmacol Ther, 2024 (PubMed 39179117). A 2025 review maps regenerative medicine's intersection with cosmetic dermatology across mitochondrial function, epigenetics and microbiome resilience — J Cosmet Dermatol, 2025 (PubMed 40671685).
  • Hydration and wrinkling. Low-molecular-weight collagen peptide (1,000 mg daily, 12 weeks) significantly improved skin hydration at 6 and 12 weeks plus three visual and two instrumental wrinkling parameters versus placebo (n = 64) — Nutrients, 2018 (PubMed 29949889).

This is the standard: the study, what it found, what it means, and your one action — every claim traceable to its source.
